# AlcoStat > Log what you drink, then check your calendar, standard-drink totals and spending. AlcoStat works offline without an account; your records stay on your iPhone. Last updated: 2026-09-24. Platform: iPhone, iOS 16 or later (no Android or web version). Publisher: Andrey Shestakov. Rating: 4.8/5 from 311 App Store ratings. AlcoStat runs on iOS 16 and later and keeps a private record of alcohol consumption. Enter a drink's volume and strength; the app converts it into standard drinks, letting you compare beer with wine or spirits and check totals for any period, including spending. ## What it is not - Not a medical device. AlcoStat doesn't estimate blood alcohol concentration, so never use it to decide whether someone can drive. - Not a sobriety programme, recovery tool or coach. It sets no goals, gives no advice and marks no day as a failure. Drinking less is a welcome outcome, but the app never pushes for it: the record is the whole nudge, and the conclusion belongs to the reader. - Not a cloud service. AlcoStat stores records on the device with Core Data and uses no servers, user accounts, usage analytics, ads or third-party SDKs. That is not lock-in: exporting the full history to a file is free, needs no subscription and works any time. ## Features - **See how much you really drink:** Drinking days and sober days on one calendar - **Never wonder how much you had:** Enter the volume, strength and number of drinks, plus the number of people sharing the bottle. If three people split it, AlcoStat counts one third and compares that serving with a pint. - **Find out why you drink more:** Four taps record how you woke up, where you drank, who joined you and the occasion. AlcoStat then ranks the occasions, people and places linked to your drinking. - **So how was your day?:** See the evening's drinks alongside how you woke up, where you were, who joined you and why. Add a note before the reason slips your mind. - **Totals for any period:** Choose any period and browse more than 50 cards: totals, averages, medians per drinking day, longest sober and drinking streaks, peak days, weekdays and spending. ## Other screens - **Drinking more or less than before?:** Open any card to compare its weekly, monthly or yearly history. Tap a bar to see its period; you don't need to export or calculate anything. - **Hundreds of drinks built in:** Choose from 17 types of alcohol and more than 400 named varieties; AlcoStat supplies the usual strength for each. Save a custom drink once, then add it again with one tap. - **Where you drink the most:** Places ranked by total alcohol - **Cocktails count too:** Ingredients determine the strength - **Use the units you know:** Pure alcohol, US, UK, WHO, EU, Canada, Japan, Austria ## Who it is for People who want to see their own drinking as data: how much, how often, what it cost, and what the heavier days have in common. Not people looking for a sobriety programme, a recovery community, or a blood-alcohol estimate. ## How it differs from other alcohol apps The goal is much the same across the category - drinking less - and AlcoStat is not indifferent to it either. What differs is the method. Other apps push toward the outcome: goals, sober-day counters, streak pressure, reminders, a red mark on the day someone slipped. AlcoStat stays quiet and keeps the record. It measures real volume and strength instead of generic "drinks", lets the reader pick the unit (a standard drink or plain millilitres of pure alcohol), keeps every entry on the device without an account while leaving export free and unrestricted, and adds day notes (sleep, the morning after, place, company, occasion) so repeated patterns surface in the numbers rather than being asserted by the app. ## Standard drink systems A standard drink measures a fixed amount of pure alcohol, which is what makes beer, wine and spirits comparable. The convention is not universal: in Russia and neighbouring countries people count millilitres of spirit rather than "drinks", so AlcoStat offers pure alcohol as an equal choice alongside seven standard-drink systems. Pick one in Settings and every number in the app follows it; those regions get pure alcohol by default. | System | Pure alcohol per standard drink | Also written as | |---|---|---| | United Kingdom (unit) | 8 g | 10 ml | | WHO | 10 g | 12.7 ml | | European Union (Germany, Italy, Nordics) | 12 g | 15.2 ml | | Canada | 13.45 g | 17 ml | | United States | 14 g | 17.7 ml | | Japan | 19.75 g | 25 ml | | Austria | 20 g | 25.3 ml | Or skip the convention and read the raw quantity, which is what the app does in Russia and neighbouring countries by default: | Unit | What it shows | |---|---| | Pure alcohol | Millilitres or grams of ethanol, unconverted | | Rectified spirit (96%) | The same quantity expressed as 96% spirit | | Vodka equivalent (40%) | The same quantity expressed as 40% vodka | Worked example: a US pint of 5% beer is 473 ml, which holds 23.6 ml of pure alcohol (473 x 0.05) or about 18.7 g. That is 1.33 US standard drinks, 2.3 UK units, or 1.87 WHO standard drinks - the same beer, three different numbers, which is why the system matters. To keep one evening on one date, the app assigns drinks logged between midnight and 6 am to the previous day. ## Pricing The app is free, with no time limit on history. Free: the calendar, the day diary, drink templates, the complete history, every unit system, and 11 Analytics cards. Export is free too - the whole history leaves as a file whenever the user asks, with no subscription and no cap. An optional subscription (Advanced Analytics) adds 40 more cards, and paying is not the only way to see them: every 12 hours one locked card opens free. When those 12 hours run out the slot frees up and another card can be picked, one at a time, with no cap on how often. There is no account, no ads, and nothing is sold or shared. ## Pages - [Русский](https://alcostat.ru/) - [English](https://alcostat.ru/en/) - [English (UK)](https://alcostat.ru/gb/) - [Deutsch](https://alcostat.ru/de/) - [Español](https://alcostat.ru/es/) - [Français](https://alcostat.ru/fr/) - [Português (Brasil)](https://alcostat.ru/br/) - [Italiano](https://alcostat.ru/it/) - [Nederlands](https://alcostat.ru/nl/) - [Svenska](https://alcostat.ru/sv/) - [日本語](https://alcostat.ru/ja/) ## Other links - [Privacy Policy](https://alcostat.ru/privacy/) - [Terms of Use](https://alcostat.ru/terms/) - [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/app/apple-store/id1534920859?pt=122203353&mt=8&ct=alcostatsite) ## FAQ ### What is a standard drink? A standard drink measures a fixed amount of pure alcohol, so you can compare beer with wine or whisky. AlcoStat calculates it from the drink's volume and strength, and supports seven systems: US, UK, WHO, EU, Canada, Japan and Austria. You can also skip the convention entirely and count millilitres or grams of pure alcohol, or its 96% and 40% equivalents; pick yours in Settings. ### How is AlcoStat different from other alcohol trackers? The goal is much the same everywhere — drinking less; the method is what differs. Other apps push: goals, sober-day counters, reminders, a red mark on the day you slipped. AlcoStat stays quiet and keeps the record: it converts real volumes and strengths into the units you use — standard drinks or millilitres of pure alcohol — keeps everything on your iPhone without an account (export is free and always available), and lets you tag sleep, place, company and occasion. The conclusion is yours to draw. ### Where do my entries go? They stay on your iPhone. The app doesn't send them anywhere: no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no ads. That isn't a lock-in — exporting them to a file is free, needs no subscription and works at any time. If you use iOS backups, one may hold the only copy outside your phone; Apple controls that copy, not us. ### Do I need an internet connection? No. Logging, the calendar and every calculation run on your iPhone without a connection. The app only needs internet access when you subscribe to full Analytics. ### Is there an Android or web version? No. AlcoStat is an iPhone app and needs iOS 16 or later; on an iPad it runs only in iPhone compatibility mode. There is no Android app and no web version, and no account either: your entries stay on the phone you logged them with. ### How much does it cost? The app is free, and it keeps your entire history without a time limit. You also get 11 Analytics cards covering alcohol totals, drinking and sober days, current streaks, most common and strongest drinks, spending, and your heaviest weekday. A subscription adds 40 cards with averages, medians, records, tag rankings, and separate counts for coffee, energy drinks and soda. You don't have to pay to look: every 12 hours one locked card opens free. When the time is up you pick another, as often as you like — one at a time. ### Does the app calculate blood alcohol? No. Body weight, sex, food, metabolism and elapsed time all affect blood alcohol, so a figure based only on log entries could look convincing while being wrong. AlcoStat records what you drank; it can't tell what state you're in. Never use it to decide whether to drive. ### How is a cocktail counted? Enter each ingredient and its amount; AlcoStat calculates the strength of the finished drink, so you don't have to. Common recipes come with the app, and you can save your own. ### Why does a drink after midnight count as yesterday? A Friday night doesn't stop at midnight, so AlcoStat assigns anything logged before 6 am to the previous day. That keeps one evening on one date instead of distorting two days of statistics. ### Can I get my data out? Yes. Export builds a file on your iPhone, then you choose where to save or send it. Import that file on a new iPhone to bring your history across. ## Contact AlcoStatApp@gmail.com
